03The Sherwood Method
Read. Plan. Execute. Review.
The method is a sequence, and the sequence is the point. Each step exists to protect the next one. It applies equally to every member.
What methodology means
Methodology is how QG Sherwood reads the market, prepares decisions, defines risk, executes, reviews and evolves. It is a way of working, written down and shared by the whole group.
It is not a trading signal system. It does not tell anyone what to buy or sell. It defines how a decision is prepared, how it is carried out and how it is studied afterwards.
- 01
Read
Understand context before acting.
Every cycle starts with reading: what the market is doing, in what context, and what would change the picture. The aim is understanding, not prediction. The reading is written down as a thesis, with its assumptions.
The questions
- What is the market doing, and in what context?
- What would have to be true for this idea to work?
- What would change the picture?
- 02
Plan
Define scenarios, invalidation and risk before execution.
A plan is written in calm conditions so that it can govern behavior in volatile ones. It states the scenarios, the point at which the idea is wrong, and how much is at risk if it is. If a plan cannot state where it is wrong, it is not yet a plan.
The questions
- Where is this idea wrong?
- How much is at risk if it is?
- What will be done in each scenario?
- 03
Execute
Act according to the plan rather than emotion.
Execution is a craft in itself. Good decisions fail through careless timing, sizing or follow-through, so execution is held to its own standard, separate from the result it happens to produce.
The questions
- Is this the plan, or the moment?
- Is the size what was decided?
- Is the exit where it was set?
- 04
Review
Study decisions, execution and outcomes to improve continuously.
Every cycle closes with a review, regardless of the result. Decisions, execution and outcomes are studied separately, lessons are written down, and the method itself is revised on purpose.
The questions
- Was the process followed?
- What was controllable, and what was not?
- What changes in the method, if anything?
Learning & Continuous Development
Learning is part of the operation.
QG Sherwood is built around continuous development. QG Sherwood itself does not operate as a public course, signals service or open training program. It is an operating culture in which members develop by doing the work inside a shared methodology.
Learning here is practical and continuous. Members observe how context is read and how decisions are prepared, hold their own execution to the same standard, and bring their decisions to review. Mistakes are studied, not hidden.
Progress is measured in consistency, not in any single result.
There are no shortcuts, no promises and no substitute for preparation.
How members develop
- 01
Shared methodology
One framework and one vocabulary for the whole group.
- 02
Observation
Watching how context is read and how decisions are prepared.
- 03
Structured market reading
Context first, opinion second.
- 04
Preparation
Scenarios, invalidation and risk written down before acting.
- 05
Execution standards
The plan is followed, and every deviation is documented.
- 06
Review
Process and outcome examined separately, cycle after cycle.
- 07
Discussion
Decisions are explained and questioned among members.
- 08
Disciplined repetition
The same standard, kept until it becomes habit.
Method and principles
The method is how the group operates and improves. The operating principles are the standards and behaviors that govern how decisions are made within it.
