Long before the group had a method, it had a name. Sherwood stands for a small circle bound by a shared code, for patience, and for a long view of what is being built.

The name
Sherwood evokes a forest: a place of depth, patience and quiet order. For the founders it became shorthand for how the group would behave: a small circle, a shared code, and progress measured in years rather than days.

The guardian
The figure in the crest is a guardian. It stands for watchfulness, restraint and responsibility for what has been entrusted: the method, the standard and the people who keep it.

The identity today
QG Sherwood is represented by the crest and its wordmark, in gold on deep green. The same mark appears wherever the group is present, and it carries no slogan.

Membership is extended personally by the founding partners to people they know and trust. There is no public application, no registration and nothing for sale. What is asked of every member is the same: commitment to the method, respect for risk and the discipline to keep improving.
